Smashing Pumpkins Cocktail, Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti
The Smashing Pumpkins Cocktail features five premium ingredients found within a 100 mile radius of the National Park. The safari journey begins with pumpkins and lemon grown by Ikoma Cooperative Farms, a local, farming initiative. Honey produced in the nearby village of Mugumu is added for sweetness and Konyagi, a sugarcane-based spirit handcrafted in the city of Mwanza, gives the drink body. The recipe concludes on Lake Victoria with the final touch — fresh cinnamon powder — to add a kick.
2-½ oz (70 ml) Konyagi liquor
2-¾ oz (80 ml) pumpkin purée
1-½ oz (40 ml) sour mix
1 pinch cinnamon powder
1. Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice.
2. Pour into a highball glass full of ice cubes and top with soda water.
