Blogger’s Day of Silence: For Japan with Love

For Japan with Love

Hello Everyone! A couple of my fellow bloggers have come together to create For Japan With Love. A project dedicated to raising awareness, and helping to raise donations for disaster relief in Japan. We’ve all seen the images and video footage. Now it’s our time to act. There are two ways to participate. The first is to donate. Leaders of this project have handpicked the organization Shelterbox to donate to. This organization is truly wonderful. They provide emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for families around the world who are affected by disasters at the time when they need it the most. Each large, green Shelterbox is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for extended family, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack, and other vital items. Each box costs $1,000. The hope was to raise enough to send five boxes to Japan. So far, more than $19,000 has been raised. With donations still coming in, this is truly an INCREDIBLE feat. It goes to show that every little bit goes a long, long way.

The second way to participate is to get involved. Bloggers, join me and more than 200 other bloggers on Friday, March 18th, for a Bloggers Day of Silence. What does this mean? Well, it means that my blog and more than 200 others will be silent (i.e. no posts). This is in honor, respect, and remembrance for what has happened in Japan and to everyone affected by this devastation. If you are interested in participating, please email lydia@ever-ours.com or info@utterlyengaged.com for more information.

It’s time for each of us to do our part. Act now. No matter how small, every little bit helps. And matters.

Please join me.
